The Nevada State Capitol was originally built in 1869, but as the state grew, so did the needs of the capitol, and north and south wings were added to the existing structure. Today, though the Supreme Court and the Legislature have moved into buildings nearby, the capitol continues to act as the home of the current Governor's office, and features historical exhibits on the second floor. The capitol is located just north of the Legislature building in the middle of the city center.
